Founded in 1969 in Riverside, California by racers Ken Johnson & Norm McDonald, K&N Engineering revolutionized filtration with the first washable, oiled cotton High‑Flow Air Filter™, designed to boost airflow while keeping engines cleaner—crafted to be reused for up to one million miles.

Over the next five decades, K&N expanded into bolt-on cold-air intakes (1992), Wrench‑Off oil filters (1988), cabin filters, fuel filters, and home A/C filters—now offering over 12,000 SKUs worldwide.
